About the event
This eight-week in-person book study invites a small group of artists to explore The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin through reading, reflection, conversation, and contemplative practice. Each week, participants will read and reflect on 8–10 short chapters, with one or two chapters highlighted for deeper exploration. Meetings will begin and end with contemplative practices such as meditation, journaling, or visualization.
Participants will experience: Reading discussion; contemplative practice; journaling; visualization; creative reflection; conversation with other artists.
Participants should bring: Copy of The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin; notebook; pen or pencil; commitment to all 8 weeks.
