Building clarity, resilience, and
well-being through mindful awareness

Atrium180 is a nonprofit foundation that helps individuals and organizations integrate contemplative practices into everyday life.

Through classes, educational resources, scholarships, and partnerships, we promote mindfulness as a practical way to strengthen how people think, respond, relate, teach, and lead.

Tree Lovers School offers classes, plant walks, and presentations that help people recognize and understand the trees, shrubs, and wildflowers growing all around them — from their own backyard to the backcountry, and everywhere in between.

The Challenge

Modern life places increasing demands on attention, emotional resilience, and mental clarity. Many people are navigating constant digital stimulation, rising stress levels, and growing complexity in both personal and professional settings. This is especially true for young people.

Over the past decade, students have experienced unprecedented levels of anxiety, distraction, and emotional strain. While schools and community organizations provide essential education and support, there are few consistent systems for developing foundational skills like attention, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. These are not secondary skills. They shape how people learn, work, and relate to others.

A Practical Response

Contemplative practices offer simple, effective tools for navigating these challenges. Conscious activities such as meditation, reflection, journaling, mindful awareness, and time in nature help people pause, look inward, and better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns of response.

Research across psychology, neuroscience, and medicine shows that consistent mindfulness practice can reduce stress, strengthen emotional regulation, improve focus, and support both mental and physical well-being. Even a few minutes of daily practice, or a brief moment of awareness during a busy day, can make a meaningful difference and shift how a situation unfolds. Over time, these moments begin to influence how people think, respond, and relate—at home, in school, at work, and in the broader community.

What We Do

Atrium180 is a nonprofit foundation focused on expanding access to contemplative practices in ways that are practical, sustainable, and scalable. We act as a catalyst, supporting people and institutions who can bring these practices into everyday environments.

Our work centers on four primary pathways:

Scholarships for Educators and Professionals

We fund training for teachers, counselors, coaches, and other professionals who want to integrate contemplative practices into their work. By investing in the people already working with others—especially young people—these skills can reach many more individuals in meaningful, lasting ways.

Workshops and Learning Experiences

We offer classes, workshops, and introductory experiences that help individuals explore contemplative practices in a simple, accessible way. These experiences emphasize practical tools that can be used immediately in daily life.

Partnerships with Schools and Organizations

We collaborate with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to help integrate contemplative practices into everyday environments. Rather than creating standalone programs, we support long-term integration—helping these practices become part of how people learn, work, and relate.

Educational Resources and Practice Tools

We develop and share accessible resources—such as guided practices, short lessons, and practical tools—that support ongoing learning and daily practice. These resources help individuals and educators build consistency over time and bring these practices into real-world settings.

Tree Lovers School offers classes, plant walks, and presentations that help people recognize and understand the trees, shrubs, and wildflowers growing all around them — from their own backyard to the backcountry, and everywhere in between.

Why It Matters

Contemplative practices have been shown to support well-being across multiple dimensions of life.

With consistent practice, people often experience:

  • Improved focus, clarity, and cognitive performance

  • Reduced stress, anxiety, and emotional reactivity

  • Greater resilience and emotional balance

  • Stronger relationships and communication

  • Increased self-awareness and more intentional decision-making

These are practical outcomes that influence how people learn, work, lead, and relate to others—both individually and within the communities they are part of.
